Caffeine consumption

A cross sectional study conducted among university students found a significant relationship between caffeine consumption and mental health outcomes, including depression, anxiety, and stress. Students with higher caffeine intake reported greater levels of psychological distress compared to those with lower consumption levels. The study suggests that excessive caffeine use, including energy drinks, may contribute to increased emotional strain in university populations, particularly during periods of academic pressure. These findings highlight the importance of monitoring caffeine intake among college students and understanding its potential impact on mental health (Makki et al., 2023)
